Satival is a system for diagnosing diseases for paddy crop. This system is an expert system using artificial intelligence approach.Pests and diseases attrack will affect paddy crop in the sense that they will not be able to produce according to the targeted amount. Although 'Rice Check' and Paddy Crop Technology Manual by MARDI have been produced to increase public awareness on this matter,however it is still inadequate. Apart from that, shortage in numbers of expert to analyse diseases for paddy crop makes it diflicult for the farmers to identify the diseases based on the symptoms occurred. Therefore, in order to solve this problem,analysis about paddy diseases and interviews with expert has been made. The knowledge obtained from expert mapped into Mockler Chart.Expert System Methodology using Evolution Prototype Model process has been chosen in order to develop this system.Frames are used to represent the knowledge of the domain while case-based reasoning(CBR) approachis used in the process of generating the result of diagnosis. CBR engine is developed using LISP programming language. This approach is tested and executed using data of paddy diseases provided by MARDI. Result of the execution shows that CBR are able to solve problem regarding recognition of paddy diseases in short time. It is hope that this system can bring some benefit to all users.
