Abstract

Information technology is not a new arising issue in our country any more. Since the launching of Multimedia Super Coridor(MSC),Malaysia's development has gain more focus on the era of information technology and multimedia. For the seven flagship applications proposed in the MSC project,all of the flagships are putting special emphasis on the implementation of information technology towards upgrading lifestyle for all of the citizens.In the meanwhile,there are thousands of students who apply for the admission to IPTA every year.Lots of problems arised because of the weaknesses in the current manual application system and student selection methods. Consequently, the proposal of development for the Prototype of Student Intake Application and Selection System Into IPTA is to allow students do make their application through online system besides encourage the usage of information technology in our daily life. This system provides a secure, effective and systematic approach to manage the students' admission application into IPTA with object-oriented method. Besides, a student selection system will also be developed following all the criteria in BPKP to select students into IPTA.Development of this system is not only can overcome the problems of errors while filling in the application form but also can quicken the process of application and students selection in to IPTA.
