The manual inventory system currently used at Mabuchi Motor (M) causes many problems.The management has a problem in deterrnining dates and optimal quantities in order to schedule the product and component processes.The production rate that frequently cannot achieve its production target is the main symptom of the problem.Besides that there are always defective products which cause MAbuchi to incur losses.The Inventory Control System that has been developed can help in managing inventories at Mabuchi Motor (M) by imptementing the methods that have been studied.This system has potential to keep all the information concerning inventories and generate reports which can be used by the management to review and improve production perforrnance.The output of this system is a schedule for the processe product and component. The method that has been chosen is Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and the models that have been considered are Least Unit Cost, Periodic Order Quantity, Least Total Cost, Wagner Within Algorithm, SilverMeal Algorithm, Economic Order Quantity and Lot for Lot. The methodology used for developing this system is Traditional System Developmen(TSD) supported by Visual Basic 6.0 and Microsoft Access 7.0 software.
