Abstract

Printer failures frequently occurred throughout divisions in the Historical Malacca City Counci(HMCC). The problem often resulting delays in processing activities, since most users were tightly depended on the IT Department to take care of it. The Printer Failure Management and Monitoring System (PFMMS) is an computer-based Information System with an integrated element of an expert system. The main purposes leading to wards its' development are providing the HMCC with (i) an efficient failures reporting management and (ii) an effective monitoring mechanism over the problem domain. The development phase is based on the RAD and prototype methodology, using Borland's Delphi 5.0. The system knowledge ranging only failures for inkjet printers. Two main perspectives of the development process are client and server. Access can only being made via the HMCC intranet. May the implimentation of PFMMS meets its' objectives, for both user and developer will be able to gain benefit from
