Abstract

Due to expensive cost and high risk during undergoing the wave and ship analysis, simulation and modeling techniques have been widely used by many companies to aid decision-making. This project is to develop ship simulation to analyze the ship's speed changing, according to the different kind of wave. The language used for modeling the problem is UML ( Unified Modeling Language) with prototype technique. UML method and prototype technique were chosen because they are the most appropriate and suitable to use in development the project. The simulation that have been developed is easy to handle by anyone, users only have to get a long with the buttons and menus that will guide them trough the process. The output of this simulation are, a graphic movement of a ship and wave that's a simple to look at and easy to understand. Several data also will be displayed. The simulation will not be equivalent to the actual ships simulator and wave simulator which is larger and more complex due to some constraints such as resources, equipment, time, technology and expertise.
