Abstract

Collision detection technique becomes a compulsory component in a car game simulation. The collision detection technique implemented in this gar game simulation are 18-DOPs. The 18-DOPs technique have been used by replacing the AABB technique in the ODE game engine. This technique bounds its object tighter and faster than other bounding volume techniques. In order to produce a realistic object movement, rigid body dynamics have been implemented. Rigid body dynamics contains basic physics formula in order to produce objects movement and response. From the result of this project, the use of 18-DOPs brings a good result compared to AABB.
