Abstract

The extensive progress of computer technologies these days has brought us to various kinds of software system and application that widely distributed in the market. Technology in networking and computer security has become essential to the developer and the user of the system. In instance, this project is subjected to develop a software which able the user to handle and manage networking environment in efficient ways. Through this application, the local workstation does not have to ping destination workstation's IP address each time in order to make sure of the network current status. Furthermore, this application has improved the old way of pinging other workstation's IP by providing schematic and systematic windows based environment and simplifying the pinging process through inputting the destination IP into the application and the current destination workstation status will be automatically generated throughout the IP feedback reply. Therefore the purpose of this report is to investigate an important aspect used by other software, which have the similarities in functional approach and objectives with the other software. In process of development, Waterfall Model is used as a reference model and Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 is used for designing and implementing the software.
