Abstract

Robot World Cup Initiative (RoboCup) is an organization that attempts to foster artificial intelligence and intelligent robotics by organizing robot world cup sectors games and conferences. Based on the idea of Robocup, a prototype mobile robot is designed and developed. Various fields of knowledge including fields of mechanical, electrical, robotic programming and real time system are incorporated in this project. The prototype robot uses two stepper motors as its actuators and incorporate with eight infrared sensors to detect obstacles. Micro controller 8051 is used to control and coordinator all the activities of robot through program that is burn into eternal EPROM. The development of this robot enables testing of various algorithms for RoboCup.
