The increased usage of computers, printers and high-speed networking makes multimedia data an important and demanding medium.Electronic merchants are facing a big problem to ban individuals from copying and distributing pirated electronic documents illegally.To overcome this problem, copyright protection concept is being introduced.Copyright Protection is a concept that is used as a motive to protect the multimedia data ownership such as text, image, audio and video from being copied, distributed and pirated illegally. To develop this copyright protection concept technique that is known as watermark technique is introduced to be used in either, networked or stand alone environment. Generally, watermark technique is based on watermark data embedding into an original data.A watermarks should represent exclusively the copyright owner of the product and can be detected only by him/her. Watermarks must be robust to any product modification that does not degrade its quality.Resistance against any intentional attack is required.In this paper,a watermark technique for digital image is presented where Spatial Domain an algorithm,based on block selection for the image is used to embed a watermark image into an original image.Prototype methodology is chosen to develop this copyright protection prototype using JAVA software to implement this system. As a conclusion, the prototype developed will be able to provide maximum image security to protect ownership.
