Abstract

The main purpose of this project is to allow user to control their electrical appliances even there are not at home via Internet. This system consists two main parts which is the client and server. The server will log in to Internet via telephone line. For the client side there v\eil be a software insert to Web page that allow user to access at other places. This client software is located at a web page because to have a much easier way for users to access. By connecting this two computers, the user can control their electrical appliances through Internet via parallel port. For economically reason, a software that can control electrical appliances by its own is created. It means that this software can do the controlling without log in to Internet. So this will be a reducing at the Internet bill. For the two method of controlling as above, a extra circuit is built. It can been known as parallel port interface system. Basically the parallel port is to be used as a media interface in this controlling purpose. From this project, we will be able to see that the parallel port is a very simple and affordable technique in controlling external circuitry. With just a D-Type 25 Pin Male Connector, buffers, relays and simple wiring, we will be able to interface our computer to the external devices. This parallel port is provides a very simple means to use the computer interrupt structure with eight TTL outputs. This project only use the eight 1-11, outputs to control the electrical appliances by activated the selected relay.
